A Newsletter of the INTACH, J&K Chapter
From Editor’s Desk
It gives me pleasure to present the first official news letter of INTACH, J& K Chapter. This edition gives us glimpse in to our organization established some three years back in 2004. Since then our team is working tirelessly towards specific goals and objectives set up by Srinagar chapter in tune with the constitution of the parent organization.
This news letter provides us with an opportunity to highlight our core activities which primarily focus on documentation and preservation of the cultural marvels and architectural landmarks of Srinagar city.
Furthermore, published articles pertaining to nomination of Srinagar Heritage zone on the World Monument Fund (WMF) watch list also figures in this issue. The name of newspapers and writers has been duly acknowledged.
Kashmir is a repository of rich built and natural heritage. Surely time has come to recognize its unique value and develop ways of preserving it.
It is hoped that this edition will help in generating awareness about the rich heritage of Kashmir and establish a link with the glorious past.
